Land Rover Defender: Startup Battery Disconnect and Connect
GENERAL PROCEDURES
CHECK
NOTE:

on the vehicle specification, but the

1. Always refer to the health and safety precautions before carrying out this
procedure.
2. Note the preset radio frequencies.

- Note the position of the front row right seat.
- Reposition the front row right seat to get access to the startup battery
access cover.

- Release the access cover from the 2 grommets.
- Reposition the access cover.

Remove the access cover.

- Loosen, but do not fully remove the nut(s).
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
ADJUSTMENT
1.
CAUTION:
Make sure the startup battery ground cable is correctly installed.

- Connect the startup battery ground cable.
- Tighten the nut(s).
Torque: 6Nm
2. Install the access cover.
3. Reposition the front row right seat to the noted position.
4. Complete the door window motor initialization procedure.
5. Enter the preset radio frequencies.
6. Reset the clock to the correct time.
