REMOVAL

CAUTION: Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.

NOTE:

1. Use the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment to depressurize the air suspension.

2. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

3. Remove the wheel and tire.

Use a suitable stand to support the lower arm.

General Equipment: Vehicle/axle stands

Front Right Halfshaft

Remove the air duct.

Front Right Halfshaft

Loosen, but do not remove the tie-rod end nut.

Front Right Halfshaft

Use the special tool to release the tie-rod end from the wheel knuckle.

Special Tool(s): JLR-204-793A

Front Right Halfshaft

Remove and discard the upper arm ball joint nut and bolt.

Use the special tool to release the upper arm ball joint.

Special Tool(s): JLR-204-803

Front Right Halfshaft

Install the special tools.

Special Tool(s): 204-506/1, 204-506/2, 204-506/3, 204-506/5

Use the special tool to release the halfshaft.

15. Remove the special tools.

Use the special tool to remove the yoke.

Special Tool(s): JLR-204-802

CAUTION: Take care not to damage the halfshaft seal.

Front Right Halfshaft

Use a suitable to remove the halfshaft from the differential.

Remove and discard the halfshaft circlip.

Front Right Halfshaft

Inspect the halfshaft splines for signs of damage. If damage is present, drain the front differential and refill with clean oil.

INSTALLATION

1.

Front Right Halfshaft

Install a new circlip to the halfshaft.

2. Clean and inspect the seal. Replace if damaged or worn.

3. Install the halfshaft. Make sure it is fully located in the differential.

5. Install the halfshaft into the wheel knuckle. Use the original nut to aid installation.

9. Remove the supporting stand from under the lower arm.

13. Check and top up the front differential oil.

14. Install the wheel and tire.

15. Use the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic system to pressurize the air suspension.
