Land Rover Defender: Rear Door Latch

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.

NOTES:

1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

2. Remove the rear door trim panel.

Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the exterior door handle assembly.

Remove the rear door exterior handle as illustrated.

NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

Release and remove the 2 caps as illustrated.

INSTALLATION

1.

Install the rear door latch lower cover to the latch.

3.

Rear Door Latch

Install the rear door latch upper cover to the latch.

4. Install the 2 caps.

7. Install the rear door exterior handle.

11. Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the exterior door handle assembly.

15. Install the door handle access cover.

16. Install the rear door trim panel.

17. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
