REMOVAL

CAUTION: Nuts and bolts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the component.

NOTES:

• This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
• This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles with air suspension

1.

Use the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment, depressurize air suspension system.

General Equipment: Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles with 2.0L diesel engine

2.

Remove the fuel filter.

The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles

3. Remove the air filter housing.

4. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2-post lift.

5. Remove the left wheel and tire assembly.

CAUTION: Do not use excessive force to release the height sensor.

Release the height sensor from the left upper control arm.

7.

• Remove and discard the nut and bolt.
• Use the special tool to release the left upper control arm ball joint from the wheel knuckle.

  Special Tool(s): JLR-204-803

• Release the left upper control arm.

8.

Remove the 2 nuts.

9.

• Remove the 2 bolts.
• Remove the left upper control arm.

INSTALLATION

The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles

1.

• Install the left upper control arm.
• Install the 2 left upper control arm to body bolts.

  Renew Part: Front suspension upper arm to body nuts and bolts Quantity: 2.

• Connect the left upper suspension arm ball joint to the wheel knuckle.
• Install and tighten the left upper control arm to wheel knuckle nut and the bolt.

  Renew Part: Front suspension upper arm ball joint to knuckle nut and bolt Quantity: 1.

  Torque: 70Nm

• Secure the height sensor link to the left upper control arm.

2.

CAUTION: Nuts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height.

Install and tighten the 2 left upper control arm to body nuts.

Torque: 60Nm

3. Install the left wheel and tire assembly.

4. Install the air filter housing.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles with 2.0L diesel engine

5. Install the fuel filter.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles with air suspension

6. Use the JLR approved diagnostic system, to pressurize the air suspension.

General Equipment: Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment

7. Use the JLR approved diagnostic system, to calibrate the suspension ride height.
