REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Care must be taken to avoid damaging the surrounding paintwork.
NOTE:

removed to provide extra clarity.

1.
- Release the 16 clips.
- Remove the hood seal.
2.
WARNING:
This step requires the aid of another technician.
- Remove the 6 nuts.
- With assistance, remove the hood.
3.
NOTE:
Only do the following step(s), if a new component is to be installed.
- Remove the 4 nuts.
- Remove the 2 strikers.
4.
- Remove the 3 nuts.
- Remove the hood latch.
5.
Remove the 4 hood bumpstops.
6.
- Release the 6 clips.
- Remove the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) cover.
7.
- Release the 18 clips.
- Remove the 2 hood trim panels.
INSTALLATION
1.
NOTE:
Only do the steps 1-5 if a new hood is to be installed.
2.
- Install the NVH cover.
- Install the 6 clips.
3. Install the 4 hood bumpstops.
4.
- Install the hood latch.
- Install and tighten the 3 nuts.
Torque: 15Nm
5.
- Install the 2 strikers.
- Install and tighten the 4 nuts.
Torque: 15Nm
6.
WARNING:
This step requires the aid of another technician.
CAUTION:
Only tighten the nuts finger-tight at this stage.
- With assistance, install the hood.
- Install the 6 nuts.
7. Align the hood.
8.
- Tighten the 6 nuts.
Torque: 25Nm
9.
- Install the hood seal.
- Install the 16 clips.
10.
NOTE:
- Only do this step if a new hood has been installed.
- For successful adhesion, the temperature of the badge adhesive must
be at least 20ºC. Heat
the component if required.
- The temperature difference between the badge adhesive and the vehicle
surface must be
less than 5ºC.
