Land Rover Defender: Continuous Variable Valve Lift Oil Temperature Sensor
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
NOTE:

on the vehicle specification, but the

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Remove the engine cover.

- Disconnect the breather pipe.
- Remove the breather pipe.

- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Continuous Variable Valve
Lift (CVVL) oil temperature
sensor.
- Remove the CVVL oil temperature sensor.
INSTALLATION
1.
CAUTION:
- Do not touch the tip of the Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL)
oil temperature sensor.
- Lubricate the threaded section of the Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL)
oil temperature sensor
with clean engine oil.
- Install and tighten the CVVL oil temperature sensor.
Torque: 18Nm
- Connect the electrical connector to the CVVL oil temperature sensor.
2.
- Install the breather pipe.
- Connect the breather pipe.
3. Install the engine cover.
