REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

GENERAL EQUIPMENT

MHEV Battery

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.

NOTE:

1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

2. Remove the Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) battery air duct.

3.

WARNING: If the measured voltage exceeds 0 Volts +/- 1 Volt a fault may be present with the MHEV battery.

The normal MHEV battery disconnect/connect procedure should be followed and the fault investigated.

MHEV Battery

Reposition the 2 covers and use suitable equipment to check the voltage at the MHEV battery negative and positive terminals.

General Equipment: Digital multimeter

Disconnect the electrical connector from the MHEV battery.

Disconnect the MHEV battery breather hose from the MHEV battery.

Release the 2 wiring harness clips from the MHEV battery cover.

Remove the MHEV battery.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the MHEV battery.

4. Install the 2 wiring harness clips to the MHEV battery cover.

7. Connect the MHEV battery breather hose to the MHEV battery.

8. Connect the electrical connector to the MHEV battery.

9. Install the MHEV battery air duct.

10. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
