Land Rover Defender: Instrument Panel Speaker
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
- Make sure that all the clips are correctly installed.

- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the demist vent trim panel.

- Release the 6 clips.
- Remove the instrument panel speaker cover trim.

- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Carefully release the clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the instrument panel tweeter speaker assembly.

NOTE:
Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

Remove the instrument panel tweeter speaker.

- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Reposition the instrument panel bass speaker to get access to the
electrical connector.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the instrument panel bass speaker.
INSTALLATION
1.
- Connect the electrical connector to the instrument panel bass speaker.
- Install the instrument panel bass speaker.
- Install and tighten the 3 bolts.
Torque: 4Nm
2.
NOTE:
Only carry out this step if previously removed.

- Position the instrument panel tweeter speaker assembly into the correct
location.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque: 4Nm
4.
- Connect the electrical connector to the instrument panel tweeter
speaker.
- Install the wiring harness clip.
5.
- Install the instrument panel speaker cover trim.
- Install the 6 clips.
6.
- Install the demist vent trim panel.
- Install the 2 clips.
