REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

NOTE:

1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Remove the 14 bolts.
- Remove the transmission undershield.

- Remove the 13 bolts.
- Remove the left side undershield.

- Position the transmission jack below the transmission.
- Adjust the transmission jack to support the weight of the transmission.
General Equipment: Transmission jack

Remove the transmission cross member mounting bolt.

- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the transmission cross member.
INSTALLATION
1.
- Install the transmission cross member.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
Torque: 110Nm
2.
- Install and tighten the transmission cross member mounting bolt.
Torque: 175Nm
3.
- Lower the transmission jack away from the transmission.
- Reposition the transmission jack away from the vehicle.
General Equipment: Transmission jack
4.
- Install the left side undershield.
- Install and tighten the 13 bolts.
Torque: 5.4Nm
5.
- Install the transmission undershield.
- Install and tighten the 14 bolts.
Torque: 10Nm

Do not change from high range to low
range while the vehicle is in motion. Doing
so can result in damage to the
transmission.
The Lo button is used to alternate the
engagement of the transfer case between
low range or high range.
Note: The Lo button only operates with
the engine running.
