Land Rover Defender: Front Row Seat Track Motor - Vehicles Without: Power Seats

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

NOTE:

• This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
• This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

1. Remove the front row seatbelt buckle.

2. Remove the front row seat cushion cover.

3.

• Disconnect the electrical connector.
• Release the 4 wiring harness clips.
• Release the wiring harness clip from the seat base.

4.

Remove the bolt.

5.

• Remove the 2 bolts.
• Release the 2 clips.
• Reposition the seat tray away from the seat base.

6.

• Release the 4 clips.
• Remove the seat base.

7.

• Remove the 3 bolts.
• Remove the side trim panel bracket.

8.

• Remove and discard the 4 bolts.
• Reposition the wiring harness away from the seat base.
• Remove the front seat track assembly.

INSTALLATION

1.

• Install the front seat track assembly.
• Install the wiring harness into the correct location.
• Install and tighten the 4 new bolts.
• Renew Part: Front seat frame bolt(s) Quantity: 4.

  Torque: 35Nm

2.

• Install the side trim panel bracket.
• Install and tighten the 3 bolts.

3.

• Install the seat base.
• Install the 4 clips.

4.

• Install the seat tray in the correct position.
• Install the 2 clips.
• Install and tighten the 2 bolts.

5. Install and tighten the bolt.

6.

• Install the 4 wiring harness clips.
• Install the wiring harness clip to the seat base.
• Connect the electrical connector.

7. Install the front row seat cushion cover.

8. Install the front row seatbelt buckle.
