OVERVIEW

There are 3 audio system variants available for the vehicle:

All audio systems are powered by the Audio Amplifier Control Module (AAM) located behind the left trim panel in loadspace. The AAM is controlled by the Front Infotainment Control Module (IGM / ICCM). The speakers are hardwired directly to the AAM.

Details of the telematics speakers are in the telematics system.

DESCRIPTION

SPEAKERS

The speakers are hardwired to the AAM. The AAM receives signals from the IGM / ICCM.

SUBWOOFER SPEAKER

The subwoofer speaker is located under the front left seat. A single 4 pin connector connects the subwoofer to the vehicle wiring harness. The low-frequency sounds from the subwoofer complements the higher frequency sounds from the other system speakers.

The subwoofer speaker is powered by the AAM.

ELECTRONIC DEPLOYABLE TOWBAR SPEAKER

The speaker is secured above the TBM in the rear luggage compartment using the same 2 TBM fixing nuts. The electronic deployable towbar speaker is not part of the audio system. The speaker is controlled by the TBM.

EXTERIOR SYNTHETIC SPEAKER (IF EQUIPPED)

A speaker mounted behind the front grille is used to produce a sound to warn pedestrians of the approach of an electric vehicle.

AUDIO AMPLIFIER CONTROL MODULE

NOTE: Vehicle with 5 doors is shown, Vehicle with 3 doors is similar.

Speakers

The AAM is located behind the left trim panel in loadspace. Power supply for the AAM is received from the Rear Junction Box (BCMB).

The audio systems has an AAM suitable for the number of speakers installed.

FRONT INFOTAINMENT CONTROL MODULE

NOTES:

Speakers

The IGM / ICCM processes audio signals before passing them to the AAM. The IGM / ICCM is located under the front left seat.

OPERATION

SPEAKERS

The speaker systems use an external AAM. The speakers are connected directly to the AAM.

Audio signals originate from the IGM / ICCM and are passed to the AAM. The audio settings and volume level are transmitted from the IGM / ICCM to the AAM on a BroadR-Reach Ethernet connection.

Audio signals can also be generated by other vehicle systems. The IGM / ICCM processes the signals and sends the output to the AAM on a BroadR-Reach Ethernet connection.

The AAM receives a fused power supply from the Battery Junction Box (BJB) through the BCMB. The IGM / ICCM receives a fused power supply from the BJB through the Quiescent Current Control Module (QCCM) and a fuse in the BCMB.

ACTIVE SOUND DESIGN

NOTE: The active sound design feature is only available on specific powertrains.

Active Sound Design is an enhancement of the vehicle engine sound, reproduced and emitted over the vehicle speaker system.

DIAGNOSTICS

The IGM / ICCM records any Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) (DTC) and related data. The DTC and related data are read using the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment.

The JLR approved diagnostic equipment enables certain components to be activated and also read live data.
