Land Rover Defender: Right Loadspace Trim Panel
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
2.
Remove the loadspace cover.
3.
Remove the loadspace floor trim.
4.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the 2 clips.
- Remove the loadspace lower side trim.
5.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Release the 4 clips.
- Remove the loadspace treadplate.
6.
- Remove the coat hanger in the sequence shown.
- Remove the bolt.
7.
- Release the clips.
- Release the domestic voltage socket trim panel.
8. Remove the C-pillar upper trim panel.
9.
- Release the 6 clips.
- Remove the Rear Junction Box (RJB) access cover.
10.
- Remove the nut.
- Release the 12 clips.
- Release the loadspace side trim panel.
11.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the loadspace side trim panel.
INSTALLATION
1.
NOTE:
Make sure that the trim is correctly installed to the clips.
- Connect the loadspace lamp electrical connector.
- Install the loadspace side trim panel.
- Install the 12 clips.
- Install and tighten the nut.
Torque: 4.1Nm
2.
- Install the RJB access cover.
- Install the 6 clips.
3. Install the C-pillar upper trim panel.
4.
- Install and tighten the coat hanger bolt.
Torque: 1.7Nm
- Install the coat hanger.
5.
- Install the domestic voltage socket trim panel.
- Install the 2 clips.
6.
- Install the loadspace treadplate.
- Install the 4 clips.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque: 4.1Nm
7.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the weatherstrip is not stretched on installation.
Reposition the tailgate aperture seal into the correct location.
8.
- Install the loadspace lower side trim.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque: 24Nm
- Install the 2 lower clips.
9. Install the loadspace floor trim.
10. Install the loadspace cover.
11. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

disconnected all openings must be sealed.
