Land Rover Defender: Hood Switch

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

NOTE:

• This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
• This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

1.

• Release the 2 screws.
• Release the 6 clips.
• Remove the upper radiator grille panel.

2.

NOTE: Mark the installed position of the latch before loosening the bolts.

• Remove the 2 bolts.
• Disconnect the hood switch electrical connector.
• Release the 2 clips.
• Remove the right hood latch.

INSTALLATION

1.

NOTE: Align the marks made during the removal procedure.

• Install the right hood latch.
• Install the 2 hood release cable clips.
• Install and tighten the 2 hood latch bolts.

  Torque: 10Nm

2.

• Install the upper radiator grille panel.
• Install the 6 clips.
• Install and tighten the 2 screws.

  Torque: 5Nm
