Land Rover Defender: Fuel Flap Assembly

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

NOTES:

1. Fuel system health and safety precautions.

2. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2-post lift.

3. Remove the rear right wheel arch liner.

4.

Fuel Flap Assembly

Open the fuel flap.

5.

Fuel Flap Assembly

Release the fuel filler cap.

6.

NOTE: If equipped.

Fuel Flap Assembly

Release the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) fuel filler cap.

Fuel Flap Assembly

Disconnect the electrical connector.

8.

Fuel Flap Assembly

Release the breather hose from the 3 clips.

9.

CAUTION: Make sure that the fuel flap is open.

NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

INSTALLATION

1.

CAUTION: Make sure that all the clips are correctly installed.

Install the latch to the fuel flap assembly.

2.

CAUTION: Make sure that all the clips are correctly installed.

3. Secure the breather hose to the 3 clips.

4.

NOTE: If equipped.

Install the DEF fuel filler cap.

5. Install the fuel filler cap.

6. Install the rear right wheel arch liner.
