Land Rover Defender: Floor Console Upper Section
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Do not use excessive force to remove the component. Make sure that all fixings
are fully released.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Remove both front row seats.
2. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
3. Remove the front floor console stowage compartment lid.

Remove the rubber mat from floor console.

Remove the 2 screws.

NOTE:
This step must be done on both sides of the vehicle.

Remove the 4 bolts.

This step must be done on both sides of the vehicle.

- Release the 15 clips.
- Remove the trim panel from the side of the floor console.

- Release the 15 clips.
- Remove the upper section of the floor console.

NOTE:
Do not complete this step if the component is removed for access only.

- Remove the 3 screws.
- Remove the front trim from the upper section of the floor console.
INSTALLATION
1.
NOTE:
Only complete this step if the component was previously removed.
- Install the front trim to the upper section of the floor console.
- Install and tighten the 3 screws.
Torque: 1.2Nm
2.
- Install the 15 clips.
- Install the upper section of the floor console.
3.
NOTE:
This step must be done on both sides of the vehicle.
- Install the 15 clips.
- Install the trim panel to the side of the floor console.
4.
NOTES:
- This step must be done on both sides of the vehicle.
- Make sure that the bolts are centered in the bolt hole.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
Torque: 2.2Nm
6. Install the rubber mat into the floor console.
7. Install the front floor console stowage compartment lid.
8. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
9. Install both front row seats.
