Land Rover Defender: Third Row Seat Backrest Cover
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Remove the third row seat.
2.
- Release the trim cover from the 3 clips.
- Release the trim cover from the 2 clips.
- Remove the third row seat trim cover.
3.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 3 wiring harness clips.
4.
Release the 4 backrest cover clips.
5.
Remove the third row seat backrest cushion assembly as illustrated.
6.
Use a suitable tool to remove and discard the 13 hog rings.
7.
Remove the third row seat backrest cover.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the third row seat backrest cover.
2.
NOTE:
- Make sure that new hog rings are installed.
- Use hog ring pliers to close the hog rings. Do not use any other
tool. The hog rings must be
closed to overlap as illustrated.
General Equipment: Hog ring pliers
3.
Install the 13 new hog rings in the sequence shown.
Renew Part: Hog rings Quantity: 13.
4. Install the third row seat backrest cushion assembly.
5. Install the 4 backrest cover clips.
6.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Install the 3 wiring harness clips.
7.
- Install the third row seat trim cover.
- Install the trim cover to the 2 clips.
- Install the trim cover to the 3 clips.
8. Install the third row seat.
