REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
WARNINGS:
- To avoid accidental deployment, the Restraints Control Module (RCM)
backup power supply must be
depleted. Wait at least 2 minutes after disconnecting the startup battery
ground cable(s) before doing any
repair or adjustment to the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS), or any
component(s) adjacent to the
SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal
injury.
- Do not probe the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) electrical
connectors.
NOTES:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
2. Make the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) safe.

Position the front row seat backward.

Remove the 2 front row seat track bolts.

Position the front row seat forward.

Remove the 2 front row seat track bolts.

CAUTION:
Take care not to damage the front row seat side trim during removal. Examine
illustration before
removal.

Remove the front row seat side trim.

NOTE:
If equipped.

- Disconnect the front row seatbelt pretensioner electrical connector.
- Remove the front row seatbelt pretensioner bolt access cover.

- Remove the front row seatbelt pretensioner bolt.
- Release the front row seatbelt pretensioner assembly.

Reposition the front row seat to the center position.

Carefully tip the front row seat.

- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the wiring harness clip.

CAUTIONS:
- Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.
- Protect the surrounding trim to avoid damage.

Remove the front row seat.
INSTALLATION
1.
CAUTIONS:
- Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.
- Protect the surrounding trim to avoid damage.
Install the front row seat.
2. Carefully tip the front row seat.
3.
- Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Install the wiring harness clip.
4. Carefully tip the front row seat.
5. Position the front row seat forward.
6. Install and tighten the 2 rear track bolts.
Torque: 48Nm
7. Position the front row seat backward.
8. Install and tighten the 2 front seat track bolts.
Torque: 48Nm
9. Reposition the front row seat to the center position.
10.
NOTE:
If equipped.
- Install the front row seatbelt pretensioner assembly.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
Torque: 40Nm
- Install the seatbelt pretensioner bolt access cover.
- Connect the seatbelt pretensioner electrical connector.
11.
CAUTION:
Make sure all the clips are correctly installed.
Install the front row seat side trim.
12. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

FRONT ROW SEAT - VEHICLE WITHOUT SEAT MEMORY
A switched power supply from the Rear Junction Box is used to operate the
front row seat switchpacks.
On vehicles without seat memory, the seat switchpacks are connected directly to
the seat adjustment motors.
