REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

WARNING: Make sure the ignition is OFF before carrying out this procedure.

NOTES:

• This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
• This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

1. Remove the canvas roof outer canvas.

2. Remove both canvas roof side finishers.

NOTE: The weatherstrip is attached with double-sided adhesive tape to the frame.

Remove the canvas roof weatherstrip.

INSTALLATION

1.

CAUTIONS:

• Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.
• Protect the surrounding components.
• Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

Use suitable plastic tool, to remove all adhesives from the frame.

2.

CAUTIONS:

• Make sure all mating faces are clean and dry before applying sealant.
• Touching the adhesive surface will impair re-bonding.
• Do not stretch the canvas roof weatherstrip during installation.
• Make sure the pressure is equal on all faces of the seal.

• Use hepthane to clean the mating faces. (cleaner: Hepthane)
• Apply a thin coat of the specified mixture of primer to the frame.

  Material: Primer 3842 A (80%) + 3842 B (20%) (null / null)

• Install the canvas roof weatherstrip.

3. Install the canvas roof outer canvas.

4. Install the canvas roof side finisher on both side.

5.

• Spray water around the canvas roof frame.
• Inspect for any possible leaks.
